Continuing our support for Summer Eats for Kids!

Each year we play a small part in supporting this program by providing books that can accompany the food that’s distributed. The Summer Eats for Kids program provides children and families in Windsor-Essex County with a week’s worth of nutritious snacks, fresh fruits, and vegetables. The program is provided at six school locations across the community twice a week through July and August. Our program takes place in priority neighbourhoods where we see the highest rates of children living in poverty. We host the program at school sites to make the food bags accessible to these children and their families. The goal of the program is to bridge the gap in the summer months for families who typically access school nutrition programs during the school year, but are left with a gap in the Summer months. Last year over 4,000 bags of food were distributed.
